DIRECTOR'S BIO

Brandon Spivey has been part of the Manchester punk scene since the late ’70s and saw Crass in 1984. A devotee of Dada art, he describes himself as a working-class musicologist, a supporter of free speech and an opponent of authoritarianism. Crass – The Sound of Free Speech is his first documentary. For over thirty years Brandon has also been producing extreme electronic music. Proud of his artistic work, he remains happily anchored in the “9 to 5” world as a construction worker.
