Marlene Millar has been making dance films, documentaries and experimental productions for over thirty years. In 2019 their career was celebrated with a retrospective at the Threshold Artspace in Perth, in the United Kingdom, where they presented the installation Witness, a work that interweaves history, memory and docu-fiction. Their most recent work stems from the Migration Dance Film Project, in which Millar brings Sandy Silva’s choreography to the screen, exploring performative narratives linked to social themes. Their films have received more than 30 international awards.
