“Make some noise” is the motto for this year’s edition, the twelfth in the still short but already significant history of Seeyousound, a festival that has always explored music through cinema and sought to use the union between these two arts as a way to show the world, with all its passions and surprising stories.
This year’s festival begins with a sunrise (the one “in the West” by Casino Royale) and ends with a “final act” (the one that tells the story of David Bowie’s last great album, and more): it is impossible not to see in this coincidental (but is there such a thing as coincidence?) calendar a sign of both the consistency of a journey and an important transition. We have ‘made noise’ in recent years, and we continue to do so (both with music and words, despite the difficulties of the historical and economic period).
Since its first year (it was 2015, and Bowie—to stay on topic—was still alive and seemed immortal to us), Seeyousound has lived several lives, undergone many internal changes and innovations, while trying to maintain its structure and strong identity: the behind-the-scenes of an event is always of little interest to the public, and rightly so, but it heartens us to see, even today, a large number of people who were there ‘the first time’ on the list of festival organizers.
The 2026 edition will be shorter, but the six days on the calendar will be no less intense and special: the goal is still to offer our audience the best of the year’s offerings, but also a balanced program that moves between genres (music and film) with dynamism and taste.
Introductions are necessary, but they must be concise: let Seeyousound number 12 begin.
