SUONO/VISIONE/SUONO: I CASINO ROYALE APRONO SEEYOUSOUND¹²

L’OPENING NIGHT of Seeyousound¹² scheduled for Tuesday 3 March at 8.30pm at Cinema Massimo in Turin, will be CASINO ROYALE – SUONO/VISIONE/SUONO: an original production created jointly by the band and the Turin-based festival.

An event evening dedicated to Casino Royale and the latest film works born within the Milanese collective, in which live music and storytelling intertwine, giving shape to a format designed for the dimension and imagery of the cinema auditorium.

On the programme for the evening is the experimental film Quarantine Scenario (Italy, 60’, 2020) which will be presented in a versione rieditata in anteprima per Seeyousound. The film’s genesis lies in a collective work born during lockdown: a soundtrack without images, created from the track Scenario by Casino Royale from the Polaris project. The music was shared among musicians around the world, turning into a flow of sonic snapshots that each interpreted in their own way. The director Pepsy Romanoff gave visual form to these sounds, assembling images gathered over years of travel across continents, cities and glimpses of everyday life. The result is a fluid, dreamlike tale: an hour of collective journey bearing witness to connection, silence and breath in a suspended time.

Insieme, anche Alba ad Ovest (Italy, 39’, 2025) by Frankie Caradonna: a hybrid work developed over three years together with Casino Royale and Overclock; a visionary journey through contemporary Milan, which crosses the night as a visual and sonic flow and merges narrative cinema, documentary, music and performance in an open and deeply immersive form.

The double screening and the previously unseen live performance retrace the history of a pioneering crossover band in Italian music, whose productions were a bridge between underground subcultures, pop and electronic experimentation between the late ’80s and the ’90s, and whose album Sempre più vicini – which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025 – is considered a milestone for having contaminated Italian pop with electronics and dub.

Seeyousound celebrates the history of this band, an icon of artistic independence, with an event destined to remain in the history of Casino Royale and of the festival.
