TORINO JAZZ FESTIVAL & SEEYOUSOUND WITH ‘NOTHING WRONG’ BY FABIO GIACHINO

The Torino Jazz Festival 2026, with artistic direction by Stefano Zenni and taking place in Torino dal 25 aprile al 2 maggio 2026, launches, as part of the initiatives promoted by the Città di Torino in support of local festivals, a series of co-productions with three city events between March and May, for its XIV edizione, with the aim of strengthening the dialogue between artistic languages and enhancing the area’s cultural energies.

Il primo appuntamento, in coproduzione con Seeyousound – International Music Film Festival, è in programma Thursday 5 March at 6.30 pm at Cinema Massimo, Sala 1. At the heart of the evening is the live performance “Nothing Wrong” by the Turin pianist Fabio Giachino (pianoforte e live electronics), coprodotta da Torino Jazz Festival e Seeyousound. Un progetto che nasce da un’idea semplice e radicale: non esistono errori.

Ispirato a un celebre episodio che ha visto protagonisti Herbie Hancock e Miles Davis, “Nothing Wrong” explores error as a creative space capable not of interrupting the flow, but of transforming it. In the music proposed by Giachino, dissonance becomes language, the unexpected an opportunity for dialogue and expressive renewal, offering the audience a sonic experience in which composition and improvisation coexist in balance, between tension and discovery. The performance thus offers a contemporary musical reflection on freedom, on listening and on the capacity to turn the unexpected into possibility.

The live performance follows the screening of Herbie of Patrick Savey, ospite di Seeyousound, film omaggio a Herbie Hancock, among the most innovative and wide-ranging musicians in the history of contemporary music. Through the testimonies of collaborators and travelling companions such as Wayne Shorter, Marcus Miller e Miles Davis, the documentary retraces an extraordinary career, one capable of crossing jazz, funk, electronic music and hip hop, highlighting not only Hancock’s musical evolution but also his philosophy of life and his constant drive towards experimentation. Tickets for the evening can be purchased at www.boxol.it/seeyousound and, from 3 March, at Cinema Massimo.

The Torino Jazz Festival is a project of the Città di Torino, realizzato da Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, with the Main Partners Intesa Sanpaolo e Iren, with the support of the Ministero della Cultura and of the Fondazione CRT, in collaborazione con Turismo Torino e Provincia e GTT – Gruppo Torinese Trasporti, Charity Partner Fondazione Ricerca Molinette, Media Partnership Rai Cultura, Rai Radio 3 e Musica Jazz.
