Timo Hoogland (1991, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands) is a musician devoted to live coding, algorithmic music composition, in combination with images. From this alchemy come live performances and interactive audiovisual installations. His works invite visitors to reflect on the transparency of technology and the accessibility of software. The visuals become fragmented screens showing both geometric images generated live with the software Hydra, and the source code that generates the sound.

Through immersive live performances, the audience is introduced to the world of creative coding and Open Source, investigating the way in which technology combines with creative expression.

Da questa alchimia nascono works that invite the audience to reflect on the transparency of technology and the accessibility of software.

The software he uses, Mercury, is the result of his research during the Master in Music Design at the HKU University of the Arts, Utrecht, which he then developed further with the support of the Creative Industries Fund, the Netherlands.

The artist plays an active role in organising live coding meetups and Algoraves together with Creative Coding Utrecht, is a member of the Netherlands Coding Live community and has taken part in events and festivals such as ICLC, ADE, Gogbot Festival, Tec-Art, Droidcon, Ars Electronica and React.
