ZILLION

The true story of the King of belgian Nightclubs of the 2000'

The (true) story of Frank Verstraeten, nerd entrepreneur-criminal under investigation by the Internal Revenue, who in 1997 opened the Zillion mega-disco in Antwerp, in partnership with the king of Belgian porn Dennis Black Magic. It will not last long: an incandescent blaze of electronic music and a vast array of crimes, extinguished by the law, by Frank's dysfunctional liaison with his partner Miss Belgium, by betrayals and by greed. An unbridled existential parable, Scorsesian in its larger-than-life extremism taken as an antidote to the void of the ego, punctuated by the progressive techno case. But also an individual portrait that embodies the soul of a decade - the 90s - crushed between the wreckage of Eighties hedonism and the imminent systemic collapse of the 2000s. The last wild party before the end of a world.
