NEPTUNE FROST

A sci-fi poem that among primitive echoes tells the anti-colonialist battle of a group of hackers

Among the rugged hills of Burundi, a collective of anti-colonialist hackers led by Matalusa, a coltan miner, and Neptune, an intersexual on the run, is willing to do anything to subvert the regime that is exploiting the workforce of the local population. An sci-fi musical inspired by the album "Martyr Loser King" by American rapper Saul Williams, director of the film together with Rwandan actress and writer Anisia Uzeyman. An Afrofuturist story that speaks to us about human rights, gender identity, environmental problems, techno-capitalism without any rhetoric. Real and virtual, present and past, sleep and wakefulness, masculine and feminine blend together, all to the sound of breakbeat, rap, dance and punk, in a hypnotic liturgy that seems to come from the bowels of humanity.
