GETTING IT BACK: THE STORY OF CYMANDE

Cymande who? Story of an epochal band that (maybe) you didn't know about

In the midst of the turmoil of English society in the early 1970s, in south London, a group of young black friends unite to bring a united message of love and peace conveyed through pressing and transporting rhythms; these are the premises that lead to the birth of the Cymande group. With a dove of peace as a symbol, this group combines different genres, such as jazz, funk, soul and Caribbean groove, creating a unique genre capable of conveying love and peace to its listeners. Despite the great success in the United States, the indifference they encounter in their native country leads them to a general disillusionment that will melt them. However, their message still remains strong, even though almost forty years have passed.
