Sonido Mestizo is the first episode of an ambitious project consisting of a series of documentaries produced by ZZK Records, a Buenos Aires electronic music visionary label.
This documentary is a journey of exploration through three music’s regions of Ecuador: the Andes, the coast and the Amazon, where a new generation of musicians such as Nicola Cruz, Mateo Kingman, Río Mira weaves the traditional sounds of the local indigenous populations with more contemporary genres, in a burst of new energy.
Pablo Mensi has a degree in Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires and has obtained a diploma in screenwriting at the University of Barcelona.
He worked for more than 10 years as a director and producer of documentaries for multiple platforms. His most recent film, A Musical Journey, was screened in Mexico, Argentina and Chile, while previous works include documentaries on art and social issues. His main focus is the exploration of identity in cultural and social movements in Latin America.
