Nony, a reservist of the Israeli army with a post-traumatic stress disorder due to an attack in Gaza, slowly regains his memory, believing he’s a rock star. Is it the miraculous power of music?
Nony Geffen, Nony Geffen, born in Tel Aviv in 1982, began his career as an actor, both for television and cinema, in movies such as It’s Never Too Late by Ido Fluk (2011). In 2009, he wrote Worms, an animated children series directed by Gili Dolev. In 2012, he made his debut behind the camera with the feature film Not in Tel Aviv, in which he plays the leading role and for which he wrote the screenplay. The film won the Special Jury Prize Ciné + Filmmakers of the Present at the Locarno Film Festival the same year. Everything Is Broken Up And Dances is his second feature film (introduced at the Hong Kong JFF 2016), and here too Nony, in addition to directing and writing the screenplay, plays the main role.
