Those who have followed SYS previous editions know that the International competition 7inch has always had 18 short films in competition.

This year, despite the increase of subscriptions and the great improvement in quality, we decided to raise the bar, offering to our audience ‘only’ 10 titles. For many reasons, but mainly to give each short film the deserved visibility, and to the spectators the opportunity to discover them all. Two titles are Italians (one proudly from Turin), two Americans and others from other European countries (France, Sweden, Germany, England and two from Holland, one of which has its roots in Iran). Animations documentaries, experiments and fictions; war, migration, relationships, music as a game, as redemption and as tragedy: the spectrum of the proposal is wide as ever, some works are presented as Italian previews and they all come from the most prestigious festivals in the world (from Sundance to Tribeca, from BFI to Cannes). Mainly young authors, many debuts, glorified names (just a couple: Martin Freeman and Morten Harket). The selection has been made, we are proud of it and we believe that you will love it.
